The Munster Girls Track & Field team showed grit and heart last night at the IHSAA Regional meet held at Portage High School, finishing 4th out of 22 teams in a nail-biter of a finish. The Mustangs edged out Merrillville by just half a point to secure their spot in the top four. Here are your State-bound Mustangs and their standout performances: 400m Dash – Igboamaka Odeluga, 2nd place 800m Run – Savannah Nuetzel, Regional Champ – 1st place 3200m Run – Elora Bliss, 2nd place 4x400m Relay – Igboamaka Odeluga, Eleanor Wendlinger, Nina Garner, Savannah Nuetzel, 2nd place High Jump – Nina Garner, Regional Champ – 1st place Pole Vault – Daniella Lesina, 3rd place These athletes are officially State-bound and will be representing Munster at the IHSAA State Finals on Saturday, June 7th at North Central High School.
