The Munster boys golf team is gearing up for another promising season under the leadership of veteran head coach Bill Smitka, who holds a career record of 151-43 since taking over the program in 2009. The Mustangs are coming off an impressive 10-2 season (6-0 in conference), where they secured the Regular Season Conference and Conference Tournament Championships, finished second at Sectionals, and placed fourth at Regionals—just one shot away from qualifying for State. This year, Munster will rely heavily on its "Great Triumvirate" of senior leaders: Sam Landmesser, Cole Eplawy, and Jack Sudac. Their experience and talent will be key as the team looks to build on last year’s success. The Mustangs will host their home matches at Centennial Park in Munster. Despite losing standout player Torin Mulcahy to graduation, Coach Smitka is confident in the team's depth and leadership, stating, "If we make putts, not excuses, we will have a great season." With strong leadership and experienced players returning, Munster is well-positioned to contend for another conference title and make a push toward the IHSAA State Finals.
