First Games in Tennessee

The varsity softball team opened play in Tennessee on Monday by splitting their two games. In Game 1 vs. Stewarts Creek High School (TN), the Mustangs played a tough game but ultimately fell to Stewars Creek 5-4 in the 7th inning. Emily Siurek pitched a complete game with 3 Ks, 1 BB and also had a base clearing double to tie the game in the top o the 7th. Freshmen Ally Compton went 2-3. In Game 2 vs. Wauconda High School (IL), the Mustangs earned their first win of the season with a score of 13-1. Freshmen Kaylee O'Connell was n the circle, striking out 8 batters and no walks. The bats came alive and generated 6 doubles from senior Kylie Madura (2), junior Cece Mason, and freshmen Caroline Wendlinger, Ally Compton, and Kaylee O'Connell. Ally Compton also had her first career homerun in the 5th inning.
