The Munster Boys Golf team closed out its regular season with a pair of strong performances and enters sectional play with momentum. Last Friday, the Mustangs won the inaugural Best-Ball Battle for the Bridge, defeating Highland in all three matches at Centennial Park. Leading the way were the freshman duo of Billy Smitka and Ben Spencer, who earned a 7-0 victory. Junior Tom Novak and sophomore Luke Villarreal added a 6-1 win, while freshmen Cooper Kieltyka and Evan Miller also won 6-1 and finished the day at 1-under par. Munster concluded the regular season with a 7-5 record. On Saturday, the Mustangs competed at the Lake Central Invitational at Palmira Golf Club, posting a team score of 351. Vince Glombicki led Munster with an 82, followed by Beckett Hunt with an 87. Cooper Kieltyka carded a 90, while Evan Miller and Finn Kinsella each shot 92. Competing for the JV squad, Billy Smitka recorded a 102 and Ben Spencer added a 114. The Mustangs will begin postseason play at the IHSAA Sectional on Monday, June 8, at Palmira Golf Club.
