Munster Baseball went 2-1 at the Region Classic over the weekend, falling to Cathedral before defeating Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on Friday and Moline, IL on Saturday. Junior Hayden Goodwin earned Mustang Player of the Game honors Friday after making an impact all over the field. Goodwin contributed defensively in left field, second base, and shortstop during the day’s action. The Mustangs improved to 19-6 on the season with Saturday’s win over a talented Moline squad. Danny Bevil pitched six strong innings to earn the win, while Nate Southwell and Danny Schassburger each connected on home runs for Munster. Nate Martin stepped up behind the plate with increased catching duties and was named Mustang Player of the Game in the win over Moline. The Mustangs are back on the field today in an NCC conference matchup against Kankakee Valley starting at 5:30 p.m.
