Munster distance runners turned heads Friday night at the Carmel Distance Showcase, delivering a mix of PRs, smart racing, and a record-breaking performance. The night got rolling with a strong showing from the freshman boys. Beau Bliss clocked a personal best of 10:39, finishing 9th in his heat and 49th overall. Right behind him, Keegan McGee placed 10th in the same heat and 50th overall. Both continue to prove they’re rising names to watch in the distance scene. On the girls’ side, freshman Lekha Patel raced with confidence and control, taking 3rd in heat #3 with a PR of 11:18—dropping 12 seconds. She made a bold move to the lead with two laps to go and stayed locked in, splitting an even 5:39 for both miles. Senior Elora Bliss closed the night in a big way. She placed 3rd in heat #5 with a time of 10:46, throwing down nearly identical splits of 5:23.9 and 5:22.5. That effort earned her a 14-second PR and a new school record, breaking her previous mark of 11:00. All four Mustangs showed composure, grit, and next-level competitiveness against a loaded field.
