Racing the event for the first time in over a year, she showed great composure and steady progress, finishing right in the mix of a competitive field. Bliss followed in heat #5 with a performance that turned heads. She dropped 7 seconds off her previous best, set a new school record in the 1600 with a converted time of 5:04 (5:06 full mile), and executed a smart race plan. After sitting near the back early, she surged in the final laps—taking the lead with one lap to go and pulling away for a convincing win by more than three seconds. Two huge efforts.
