The outdoor season is underway, and the Mustangs opened Thursday night at Crown Point with a solid showing against a strong Bulldogs team. Munster was led by Elizandro Ortiz-Gonzalez, who won the 300 hurdles (42.63) and placed third in the 110 hurdles. Irie Prieboy added a win in the 800 (2:11.49), while Zion Richards dominated the discus (151-5) and finished second in shot put. The Mustangs also saw strong contributions across the board, including a second-place finish from Robert Covarrubia in the 3200, a third-place finish from Shavar Billups in the 200, and runner-up finishes in all three relays (4x100, 4x400, 4x800). Munster showed depth and early-season promise, setting a strong foundation as the team looks ahead to the rest of the spring. Next up both Boys and Girls Track and Field will compete at the Ed Woodrick Invite along with 11 other area teams hosted by Munster High School on Saturday at 9:30pm. Come out and support!
